Andrea BOTERO is Professor on New Frontiers in Design at Aalto University. Her work engages with the possibilities and contradictions of participating in design and designing participation today. Her talk will propose ways to talk with precision, care and accountability about the roles of creative practices in sustainability transformations, drawing on insights from the EU-funded creatures project (https://creatures-eu.org/).
Julia LOHMANN is Associate Professor in Contemporary Design at Aalto University. She is working with algae and other bio-materials to reflect on our relation with the living world and shift our mindset from extractivism to regeneration. In this talk she will focus on the presence and agency of bio-materiality, hands-on making and the importance of our senses in collective encounters.
The event is free, but please register as seats are limited.
