Ida Urmas’s doctoral research focuses on the intersection of design, social justice and the bioeconomy. She examines how the dominant circular design and design-for-circularity frameworks either facilitate or hinder questions of social justice, particularly within the context of developing wood-based biofibres for use in the fashion industry.
